40 European Startups Selected For the Black Founders Fund

This year, the Black Founders Fund has selected 30 European startups to receive funding. Among these are Sojo, a UK-based alterations app. Other startups selected include Feniska, a Berlin-based pet tech company that creates devices that track your pet’s health data. Another company, Base Plus, creates personalized skincare, based on data and machine learning.

30 European startups selected for the Black Founders Fund

Google announced a European Black Founders Fund in March. The fund will award up to $100,000 to each start-up and provide mentoring and other non-financial support. Thirty of the 40 companies selected are European-based, and nearly a third of them are women. The start-ups that were chosen include Sojo, a British alterations app, Feniska, a Berlin-based pet tech company, and Kuorum, a Spanish start-up that provides secure online voting.

The European Black Founders Fund is a Google for Startups initiative, and it will invest $2 million in 30 European Black-founded tech startups by 2021. The fund will help Black founders access capital and networking opportunities that can help them grow their companies and create jobs.
